Eligibility

• STEM Academy courses are offered for students in grades 8–12, with the exception of Python for Girls, which is offered for middle school girls and non-binary students in grades 6–8. Priority for in-person and virtual courses goes to students from the state of Maryland.

• For in-person courses: Reliable transportation to APL throughout the session is required. APL is not accessible by public transit.

• For virtual courses: Reliable internet access as well as audio and visual capabilities. All students are required to have their cameras on their faces for the entire class.

• Students must be committed to attending at least 10 of the 12 classes offered each session and meeting the time requirements for each class (5:00–6:30 p.m. ET). Students who do not meet the attendance requirement will not be eligible for a certificate of completion for the course.
