Heather Meyer has been involved in NASA missions and instrument teams since she was an intern at APL, including the Mercury Dual Imaging System (MDIS) on the MESSENGER mission, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) on the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, and the Europa Imaging System (EIS) on Europa Clipper. She has worked on laboratory calibration of multiple instruments, and she has experience in science planning and targeting (LROC, MESSENGER). She is currently the In-flight Calibration Lead for EIS. Her research focuses on the processes involved in the development and evolution of the solid surfaces in the Solar System, especially impact processes and volcanism, and her specialty is large impact basin geology. Heather has received multiple awards both for her research and mission participation and in recognition of her role as a young leader in the planetary community.
