I am a scientist specializing in the study of planetary surfaces using remote sensing techniques. I am currently on an Intergovernmental Personel Act Assignment at NASA Headquarters,  where I am the Chief Exploration Scientist in the Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate. Until taking that position I was the PI of the Mini-RF radar on NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance orbiter. I was also the PI of a NASA Lunar Science Institute team called Scientific and Exploration Potential of the Lunar Poles and was the PI of a NASA Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute (SSERVI) team called "Volatiles Regolith Thermal Investigations Consortium for Exploration & Science" (VORTICES). My recent research involves analysis of LRO data to study the lunar polar regions.
